Las Olas Ecuador is nestled along the Pacific Ocean in the heart of the Ecuadorian coastline, some 40 miles (60km) south of the Equator. It sits in the middle of a beautiful 10 mile (16km) stretch of serene uninhabited beach. To the north just 5 miles (8 km) away is Bahía de Caráquez. Bahia is an alluring coastal town located on a peninsula at the mouth of the Rio Chone with great restaurants and a daily local market filled with fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood. There are clean paved streets, a museum of archaeology, cosy coffee shops, a growing local arts community, along with a population of 30,000 and a wonderful beach that leads gradually into the Pacific Ocean. To the south is San Clemente, a quaint seaside fishing village.
