LAS OLAS OPENS LANGUAGES LEARNING CENTER
Bahía de Caraquez, Manabí Province, Ecuador,
Las Olas Ecuador is pleased to announce the opening of our learning center in Bahia de Caraquez. This warm and friendly seaside community, with a growing expat community, was struggling with communicating. The Founders of Las Olas, wanting to give back to this community that has become their home, offers classes to help foreigners learn Spanish and classes to help locals learn English. Once a week the two groups get together to help each other.
Classes have grown in popularity with the Fire Department, the Police Department and the local merchants at the daily fresh food market wanting to participate in classes. Each student is given a workbook and a certificate at the end of each level. “It’s just a way we can give back to the people who have so graciously welcomed us into their community” said David Maksymuik.
Las Olas is a private oceanfront golf course community. The Founders, Randy Russ and David Maksymuik created a community they want to live in. A community inspired by the past where people know their neighbors. “People don’t just live in their homes” says David Maksymuik, “they live in their community as well”. “Our model is based on the future as well” says Randy Russ. “The technology is built into our homes maximizing protection from the elements and respecting nature at the same time”.
